The ‘Spice Island’ came to be as a result of Sri Lanka’s climatic conditions, allowing for a variety of spices to be grown on the island’s soils. The abundance of these culinary treasures attracted the attention of many western nations throughout history who wished to source from Ceylon’s spice market. Sri Lanka has been a celebrated destination for its spices since its early history, and bloody wars have been waged to conquer and control its spice trade. Ceylon cinnamon and pepper had been the celebrated spices of the world as far back as the 15th Century.

Grades of Our Ceylon True Cinnamon

  • Mainly, Ceylon Cinnamon is categorized into four major grades: Alba, Continental, Mexican, and Hamburg. This classification is based on the diameter of the cinnamon sticks (quills). The most expensive grade is Alba, which features a 6mm diameter quill.
  • Ceylon cinnamon is a high-quality and highly prized spice, known for its mild flavor. It contains between 50-63% of cinnamaldehyde, which contributes to its distinctive taste.
  • Furthermore, we offer both organic (certified by USDA, EU, and JAS) and non-organic cinnamon at competitive prices in Sri Lanka. All of our cinnamon estates are located in the Rathnapura District, specifically in the Kolonna area.
  • Buyers typically prefer to import this grade of cinnamon in wholesale packages, with a minimum order quantity of 100kg.
